Richmond, KY – Eastern Kentucky Colonels soccer team won their fourth straight match with a 1-0 win over Western Carolina University.
Western Carolina University (2-6) dominated the first 10 minutes of the game getting off 4 shots on goal but the Colonels weathered the storm. The game would remain 0-0 through most of the first half.
In the 42nd minute a penalty kick was awarded to Eastern Kentucky. Sophomore Tara Claus would capitalize and give the Colonels the goal they needed going into the second half.
In the second half junior Anna Hall would make 2 big saves, WCU would take 7 shots total in the second half to preserve the 1-0 victory.
With the win the Colonels now have won as much as they did all last season.
Next up for EKU is Chattanooga (3-4-1) Friday at the EKU Soccer Stadium. First kick will be at 4 pm
