Winning Streak Snapped by a Late Goal

Clarksville, Tenn – A goal in the 89th minute by Austin Peay snapped Eastern Kentucky Lady Colonels soccer team eight game winning streak. It was the first goal given up in OVC play.

Austin Peay was given a late corner kick and Anna Hall made 2 great saves on the corner kick but the ball would find the upper corner of the net to give Austin Peay a 1-0 lead.

Both defenses battled all game. Austin Peaty (8-4-1, 3-0-1 OVC) got one more shot on goal and they made it count. Anna Hall saw her shut out streak end at 551 minutes but still made 4 saves on the night. EKU would put 4 shots on goal during the match.

With the loss EKU (8-3, 3-1 OVC) falls to fourth place with 9 points. in the OVC. They are three points behind OVC leader SIU-E. Murray State and Austin Peay are in second place with 10 points.

EKU returns to Kentucky on Sunday when they play at Murray State at 3 pm.
