Murray State used a big sixth inning rally to power past Eastern Kentucky 7-6 in the first round of the OVC Tournament.
The Colonels will face the loser of the Jacksonville State/Morehead State game tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
A scary moment would lead to the first run of the game vs Murray State when Haley Schnasi would score on a collision at the plate.
The lead would not last long as Murray State would homer to tie it back up in the bottom half of the second.
The Colonels would strand the bases loaded in the third inning.
Nicole Heitz would recapture the lead in the third with a RBI single. Christina Ciolek singled to score two runs. Lauren Mitchell would also score two runs on a single to make it 6-1 in the fourth.
Murray State would rally back in the sixth inning to take a 7-6 lead.
The Colonels would load the bases up in the seventh to attempt a two out rally but fall short and lose 7-6.
