BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Placekicker Andrew Lloyd was named the adidas OVC Specialist of the Week following his performance in the Eastern Kentucky University football team’s 29-10 win at Robert Morris Thursday night.

Lloyd, a native of Winchester, Va., converted on field goal attempts of 34, 25 and 25 yards in the season-opening victory. His first field goal came in the second quarter and then he added two more in the third quarter to push the Colonel advantage to 23-3 entering the fourth quarter. All seven of Lloyd’s kickoffs were downed for touchbacks.

Dating back to last year, Lloyd has made nine straight field goals. The senior converted 8-of-10 field goal attempts in his first season on the squad in 2013.

The other OVC weekly award winners were Eastern Illinois wide receiver Adam Drake (Offensive), Tennessee State defensive lineman Anthony Bass (Defensive) and Tennessee State running back Tom Smith (Newcomer).

Eastern Kentucky is back in action this Saturday, Sept. 6 at Miami (Ohio). That game will be televised by ESPN3 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
