RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University running back LJ Scott was selected as the Madness Ohio Valley Offensive Player of the Week by College Sports Madness on Monday.

The 6-foot, 217-pound redshirt senior carried the ball 14 times for 86 yards in Eastern’s 49-23 season-opening victory over Morehead State on Thursday. He scored two of the Colonels’ four rushing touchdowns.

Scott’s first touchdown from four yards out led to an 18-0 Eastern Kentucky lead with one second left in the first quarter. Another four-yard Scott touchdown run, with 12:54 left in the fourth quarter, put EKU on top 39-7.

Scott also caught a pass for three yards. Added to his 66 yards on two kickoff returns, the Marion, Ohio native totaled a game-high 155 all-purpose yards.

EKU takes to the road to face Marshall on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The game will air live on ESPN+.
