I'm not convinced the program was on the rise under Thompson/Cole.

Watched a lot of their games. Defense was always a problem.

Never finished higher than 6th in the OVC
Was 5-11 against Morehead State and 4-9 against Murray State. Swept by both in 2019 (Cole's first year on the staff).

Started 12-2 in 2020 against a schedule that had a combined win/loss record of 17-66 (LSU was 12-5) and included two teams that were winless (0-17 and 0-17)

Pitching?
2020 team ERA of 4.50 against that schedule. That ERA ranked 5th in the OVC.


I'm ready for a fresh start. Need someone who can make us the best OVC team in Kentucky before we can even think about being the best OVC team overall.
