According to D1Baseball, the main candidates for EKU head baseball coach are: Assistant Shaun Cole, Southern HC Kerrick Jackson, and former Pit HC Joe Jordano

I don’t know if those are the MAIN candidates overall. D1 does a good job with their scoops though, I’ll say that. Recruiting and fundraising will be huge with what this virus has done to school budgets, NCAA considering allowing a 1x transfer rule for anyone whose programs affected, etc. If that happens, gonna be PARAMOUNT also that they hire someone who is outstanding with the players in terms of relationships. I hear rumblings. Real be interesting to see what the AD does.

If Cole was going to be the choice it shouldn't be taking this long, in my opinion anyway. I do wish they would announce something soon, but I also want them to do there due diligence and make a good choice whoever it might be

For ME and speaking only of the candidates mentioned above, Jordano makes no sense whatsoever. Guy has been a HC and has won a lot of games, but never finished higher than 2nd in any conference, I believe? And for Jackson, he may end up being outstanding but he has no real track record as HC, and nothing showing he can recruit at the level EKU wants to get to. As for Cole, I agree with other poster, if it was going to be him, I don’t think it would have taken this long. I really believe it will be someone young, great track record recruiting at a high level, and able to fundraise like crazy.

No offense. Might have changed, but hard pass. Any success, he would be gone within a year or two.

New name added to the list yesterday. Andy Cannizarro. I'm not sure why they would drag this out. Cole is the man for the job and extending the process does not ingratiate the school with the coach. Practice starts in less than a week. Can we light this candle?

Honestly, I think Fanning is the man for the job. I will support whomever the AD selects, but based on conversations I have had with people about each of the candidates I’ve seen associated with this opening, I personally believe it should be Fanning. I suspect we will be hearing something very soon.

Just going to go ahead and retract this. I think we are extremely close to announcing and won’t be who I thought should be. But that is why they pay Roan the big bucks. Get behind whoever he chooses so we can continue the rise!
