Louisville

Post by Colonel12 »

Softball beats Louisville 6-2.

Louisville had a girl on 3rd with 1 out in the first and failed to score. In the 6th they had bases loaded with 1 and they did not score.

Those moments were the difference today.

I think they said first win over a power five school since 2014. Pretty impressive. Also the largest home crowd in school history.

Yes, first win over a P5 since 14. That was also Louisville. It's a shame they canceled the UK game this year.

The Virginia Tech and Kentucky games being canceled are really killing their non conference strength of schedule.

Don’t know if they could have got VT, but I do think they could have beat Kentucky.

But still have Miami who is ranked in one poll today and three against UNF that will help their RPI and SOS along with conference tournament.

Pitching...Pitching...Pitching! Maddi Rutan is on a different level then any pitcher that EKU has had in many many years!

She has easily made the difference in W/L games this season by 8-10 games!

On top of that she is one of the best hitters on the team!

She is currently rated #5 in the country as a two way player!

She is one of those once in a lifetime talents...Gonna be hard for EKU to keep her more than 2 years max!

At the current level of play she is easily not only the ASUN Rookie of the year but a major candidate for Player of the Year in the ASUN.

Amazing how some of the Power 5 or Group of (Who really knows) overlooked her!

Agreed. I would be surprised if we kept her after this season
