ASUN Tournament

Post by Steve 82 »

So after losing to Lipscomb last weekend and falling to the 5 seed, EKU goes to Lipscomb and wins 99-68. Outrebounded Lipscomb 52-26.

Waiting other results for opponent and site for Tuesday.

Is there any hope for any post season for eastern? I know they won’t make NCAA tournament without the AQ bid. But they’ve had a great season it feels hollow without something to play for. Is there an NIT or CBI for women’s basketball?

There is a WNIT, but it's not directly affiliated with the NCAA as the men's NIT is. Just this year the NCAA instituted the WBIT which is basically now the equivalent of the NIT for women's teams. I can't imagine the five-seed from the ASUN stands much of a chance of making the field, but who knows. Maybe the depleted WNIT if enough teams turn it down?
