NCAA Tourney

Post by Colonel12 »

We sat here debating on IF we could get a 15 seed if we won the ASUN. I'm now sitting watching WKU lead Marquette at the half.

The SAME WKU team we choked against earlier in the season. I think we can safely say HAD we won the ASUN and somehow gotten a 15 seed we wouldn't be up 7 at the half over a 2 seed.

We might be. I don't doubt that our team at its best had that in them. But we didn't get this team's peak performance often enough this season.

I don't think we got it any point this season.

And reality hits and WKU loses by 18.

We started out 12-2 in ASUN play. We were pretty hot there for a while.

That may say more about the ASUN than we want to admit

We're not a great conference, but if you look at the computer rankings we're far from the worst. And even more than that, we started strong but then finished very week against some of the same teams...so clearly it isn't entirely the competition. Also, we looked better against Purdue than Utah State who advanced in the tournament. When did that happen? Right before we started winning a bunch of games. My guess is that if we'd have played them 2-3 weeks earlier it would have been much uglier. There's all kinds of documentable evidence that *we* had a very up and down season.

I had forgotten about Tre King. Plays for Iowa St. Saw a play of his on a tournament ad on X. 8.9 pts a game and over 80% from the foul line.
