Well in my drunken stupor I meant that for the other post.

But feelings are still the same.

I get the portal, but it’s not like he has been amazing out of the portal. A couple hits but way more misses.

It’s a big risk on his part if he’s using for leverage in my opinion. Because if he has a bad year next year he won’t have to worry about looking for a better job. Because there won’t be any offers.
Part of the info I got yesterday is that recruits are still being actively hosted on campus, and that was part of the reason for the skepticism that he was leaving.

That said, I didn't know about the connection to the AD which admittedly does make it a little more interesting.

Name to watch.

Jaylen Davis. Kid went to Madison Central was really good there. Entered the portal from Liberty. Always seemed like a weird fit for him to go to Liberty. But would be a good pickup I think. Long, athletic and can shoot.

I was not expecting this, but I'm so excited! That gives us at least a nice center-piece/go-to scorer to build around for next season. We'll presumably have a handful of other veterans like Holt (back from injury) and Buttry. Who knows, maybe there's even a slim chance that Blanton can talk one of the standout sophomore guards out of the portal. But even if not, we've got a leader for new guys to coalesce around.

I'll also add, that this seems like it would indicate indirectly that AWH is probably back too.
