The NCAA announced a few things related to the NIT, but the most relevant is:
-No more autobids for regular season champions.
-12 automatics for the top 2 teams from each of the Power 6 that aren't in the NCAA tournament.
-20 at large bids.
That's disappointing, particularly in a season where we are favored to win the ASUN. If we do win the regular season it would have been so nice to place the ASUN tournament knowing for sure that there was still meaningful basketball left to play.
This was undoubtedly influenced by that tournament that Fox was exploring putting on.
