Re: Central Arkansas

On the trivia front, Central Arkansas can count among its alumni former Louisville/Texas/South Florida head coach Charlie strong as well as a pretty good basketball named Scottie Pippen.

Re: now eligible

NCAA ruled today that winter athletes get an extra year of eligibility. Could be beneficial for small schools like us. Get to keep our guys around an extra year if they choose. There is also discussion about allowing players to transfer one time and not have to set out a year. That could potentiall...

He was a first round draft pick, second overall.
Yes, that is true. He only lasted a single season in Baltimore, though (still more than Mayo to be fair).

Re: Houston Baptist

That FG block at the end of the half helps keep us in the game for sure, but that was a bad half. Honestly, in 7 halves of football this season I really feel like we've only had one that felt pretty good.

Re: Mayo’s number

I’m a little surprised to see it reused so soon after Mayo’s departure. Nick was a great player here and I loved watching him play. He was certainly the best player we’ve had in years. He was the best big man since Garfield Smith who starred in Army ball and played for the Celtics after he left the...

Congrats to him, he did a lot of good in Richmond
He sure did, and while we were never going to keep him forever, I'm still pretty sure he was forced out ahead of schedule. Sometimes it just feels like can't stand prosperity.

Re: Mayo’s number

I'm a little surprised. Steve is correct that we haven't retired it, but it's also not super uncommon for programs to unofficially take a number out of circulation in anticipation of eventual retirement. I suspect we'll do it officially at some point after he retires from pro ball. With that having ...

I saw that too, Smidge. Still, Sanders alone is a nice, high-profile hire for the program.

Re: Colonels pick up another home game

They base the number of people in on total capacity. Most places are going for around 20%. If you close the upper level that reduces the capacity and thus the total number they let it would go down.

Re: Coach Elder at Moeller

When I learned that Coach Elder is now the coach at Moeller in Cincy I checked their game with Trinity last night. Trinity beat em 44-7! I was shocked because Moeller is a traditional power on Ohio. Now I learn that Trinity beat them 41-0 last year and Moeller only won 2 games. As a St X grad I don...
