Eastern Kentucky (12-15) went into the Sunday afternoon looking to avoid a sweep on the road at Evansville (15-9).  Eastern Kentucky would use a freshman and senior combination to pick up the big road victory 3-2.

Senior Sean Hagan hit a home run and scored in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch to lead the Colonels in the victory.

Sean Hagan would get the game started the right way in the first inning with a solo home run to left field.

Evansville would take the lead in the second inning when Eric McKibban grounded out scoring Boomer Snyek. Jarod Perry would then single into left field scoring Johnathan Ramon to make it 2-1.

It would take a few innings but the Colonels would respond and regain the lead for good in the fifth inning when Bryan Soloman would double down the right field line scoring Sean Hagan. Ben Fisher would then single down the left field line scoring Soloman to give the Colonels a 3-2 lead.

Senior Anthony Bazzani would pick up his second save of the season.

Sean Hagan would finish the game 1-3 with a home run and hit by a pitch, earning him the Maroon Nation Player of the Game.

Freshman Caleb Johnson pitched six innings giving up just two runs and striking out two, while picking up the win.

Eastern Kentucky returns to action on Wednesday when Marshall comes to Richmond for a mid-week game.
