Senior Ragnhildur Kristinsdottir has a 72.5 stroke average for the season, which leads the OVC and is more than 2.0 strokes better than the second-ranked player.
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Ragnhildur Kristinsdottir won the 2021 Colonel Classic on Tuesday and was chosen as the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week on Thursday.
Kristinsdottir overcame a five-shot deficit on the final day to capture individual medalist honors and help the Colonels to an 18-shot team victory over a field of 14 teams at the University Club at Arlington.
The Reykjavik, Iceland native wrapped up play with a three-under 69 on Tuesday, two shots better than anyone else in the field during the final round. She began the day five shots behind Cincinnati’s Katie Hallinan, but under windy conditions, Hallinan shot a 6-over 78 while Kristinsdottir went 3-under for the round.
Kristinsdottir had a three-round total of 209, which tied for the lowest in program history. Her opening round 68 (-4) on Monday tied for the third-lowest single round in EKU history.
