The No. 4 Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team is set to take on No. 5 Belmont in the first round of the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference tournament on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET at the Dunn Center at Austin Peay State University.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 4 Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team is set to take on No. 5 Belmont in the first round of the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference tournament on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET at the Dunn Center at Austin Peay State University.

The Colonels split matches with the Bruins in league action, losing in five at Belmont but winning in four at home.

Senior Celina Sanks ended the season leading the Colonels in kills with 376. The Butler, Pennsylvania native ended the regular-season taking over the No. 10 all-time kills spot in the record books with 1,291 putaways. Junior libero Chloe Rojas racked up 524 digs on the season and led the conference nearly the entire year.

Arianna Person led BU in kills during OVC play with 262 (4.16 kills-per-set), she also contributed a team second-best 146 digs and 31 blocks. Ellie Ivancich led the defensive effort, digging out 252 balls during league action.

EKU fell to Murray State in the final game of regular-season play to take the four seed.

Admission is free for the tournament and all seating is general admission. Live statistics and broadcast will be available.

With a win, EKU will advance to the semifinal match at 6 p.m. ET on Friday and take on the winner of the No. 1 Austin Peay State vs. No. 8 Southeast Missouri State match.
