EKU Baseball TJ Alas

For a while it looked like a repeat of 2009. What happened in 2009? Eastern Kentucky upset nationally ranked Louisville 7-5.

Eastern Kentucky (3-4) scored first in the first inning of the game when a Kyle Nowlin single drove in Shea Sullivan.

Eastern Kentucky would hold that lead into the 4th inning when Louisville would tie the game up with a RBI single. Louisville would take the lead in the 5th on a RBI double.

A McKay double for Louisville would score two runs and make it 4-1.

Eastern Kentucky would try and fight back in the 8th when TJ Alas doubled scoring Sullivan. Louisville would get that run back in the 8th to make it 5-2.

Shea Sullivan would go 3-3 and scoring 2 runs for the Colonels. Brian Mroz started the game for the Colonels on the mound. He pitched 4.2 innings striking out 2 and giving up 2 runs.

Next up for the Colonels is Bowling Green State (1-2) in Emerson, GA. SEMO took 2 of 3 from Bowling Green two weeks ago. They were suppose to play three games vs Morehead State and one against Dayton but all were cancelled.
