Colonels end the Gulf Coast Showcase with the undefeated LA Tech Bulldogs. Make no mistake about it they are a really good team. However, they are beatable IF we shoot halfway decent and hold onto the ball.
They are 95th in KenPom to our 209th. They are 6-0 with wins over a D2 and NAIA program already. SIU took them to OT and Richmond lost to them by 3 after controversy. A controversial foul and Technical on Richmond coach with 3 seconds left in the game pushed LA Tech to the win.

Re: LA Tech
Colonels up 1 at the half.
Gamecast on ESPN is confusing as both teams have a Jordan Crawford.

Re: LA Tech
Listening to Greg was just as confusing. They ran out of gas in the second half

Re: LA Tech
We got close we played well for 25ish minutes against a very good mid major team. Just going to focus on the positives....
Not going to focus on the fact the in the last 4 minutes Kimble had 6 possessions were he either turned it over or took a horrendous shot (go back and watch the tape).
Did he play well up until that point? Sure. Best game from a lead guard perspective yet but late in games once again we just lost our way.
How do we figure out how to put Holt in a position to take his time 1 on 1, play off 2 feet and get a bucket? He did it multiple times today but we never went to him specifically.
In my mind it makes sense to play Buttry with one of the younger guards at all times. Buttry just plays the game the right way, makes great decision and paces us in the half court effectively. Having both Kimble/Crawford on the court at the same time gives us upside but those bad decisions just pile up on both sides of the ball.
Last thing then ill turn the page. La Tech shot 61% from 2. Ball State shot 57% from 2. Cozy covered our ability to guard on ball so much. We have allowed free lane/uninhibited drives to the rim for years now but we had the best shot blocker in school history covering for us. That is not the case this year.
