TSU was ranked 334 before they beat EKU. Belmont is ranked 89. There isn’t any way we win this game. I’ll be happy if we can just keep it close.

IF y’all play with same intensity I saw, can catch a couple breaks and Mayo is on you can beat them. They’re tough at home but so are we and your team played us plenty tough.

We played great against Murray but still lost by 12 points. Any team can win on any given day against any other team, but the odds are against EKU beating Belmont. Real time RPI has Belmont with an 85.1 % chance of winning this game.

I still think EKU will have a winning season and go to the OVC tournament, but I don’t see us beating the team picked in the preseason to be #1 in the OVC.

I don’t “see” it either, just saying you can most certainly win today.

I'll say a couple of things about this:

1. We've played historically well at Belmont even when we shouldn't have. Besides that, we were reasonably competitive with Murray who, in spite of preseason picks, seems to be better than Belmont. In fact, I'll go so far as to say this...if we play as well as we did at Murray I give us a 55% chance of winning the game. I'm not saying we will play that well...we often don't. But it's very far from unachievable.

2. I've got a certain optimism for this kind of thing today. Both teams I root for (EKU and Louisville) lost close games on the road to inferior teams in their weeknight outings this week. Louisville allowed Pitt to snap a 24 game ACC losing streak. TODAY, Louisville went to #12 North Carolina and won by 21 which was the largest margin of defeat ever for a Roy Williams UNC team at home. Sometimes a bad loss refocuses a team, and maybe the Colonels can have that experience this week as well. Here's hoping.

But if forced to make a prediction...I'd go with something like Belmont 87, EKU 76.

I do hope we win, however I’ve discovered that if I let my optimism get carried away it makes a loss much harder to take.

This is testament of how terrible the McHale recruits are – a walk-on is playing instead of a McHale recruit.

Almost half time! It’s about what I expected. McHale really destroyed this team.
