First meet

Great job against UK, both men and women! Can anyone explain why it was such a short race? Keep up the good work.

Looks like it was a good short hard run for both schools to break into the season. They'll move it out as they go along.

I know nothing about track and field except I could never do it because it involved running.

4K (about 2.5 mi) is an unusually short distance for college level X-C, even for a first meet. 4 miles would be a short distance. I just brought it up out of curiosity.

I think if the race had been the standard 8k or 10K, Eastern would have swept UK. Moreover, Eastern's men's team could put together two teams that would trounce (possibly sweep) UK. I plan to go to the Sept 12 Bluegrass meet at Masterson Station just to see it (EKU beat UK) in person. As good as Eastern has been in recent years, this years team is enormously deep. And almost all of their runners are back next year (top 9 from the first meet).
