Re: Rumor mill starting early...
Hopefully the UAC will be losing us soon to FBS I'm a never say never kind of person, but it's really difficult to envision a realistic path for the UAC to FBS as it is currently constituted. There are two many obstacles in the way. The only thing I can come up with, and even this seems too far fet...

Re: Rumor mill starting early...
Also the potential the ASUN is going to add more football schools. Rumors include West Florida moving up as well as southern CAA school or schools (per Matt Brown). On the one hand that's good, but how big is the overall conference going to get at the end of all of this? I don't want to fight 16-18...

Re: Rumor mill starting early...
As soon as I posted that, I read something on the ASUN board that says that the original reporter doesn't know, but has a hunch that it could be a return to the Southland. It had occurred to me before. Would it be worth our while to inquire about menbership with the Southland? We're a bit of a north...

Re: Rumor mill starting early...
I saw that too, Steve. That smells like a C-USA invite. If so, it surprises me at least a little. I didn't expect to get a spot, but I figured if we lost out to a fellow UAC member it would be Tarleton. I suppose the powers that be are deeming SFA a safer bet now that they've joined the University o...

Re: Braedon Sloan into the portal
Here. It makes no sense that he would leave. Unless there’s something else we don’t know about. NIL guarantees somewhere else? Something like that maybe? Just very very odd to me. It probably is something like that. These kinds of things are happening to every team from the Power 5 on down. I'm not...

Re: Roan to JMU
This university took a step back when we ran Benson out of town. I'd surmise that I'm probably not as anti-McFadden as you are...but I agree. I loved Dr. Benson. Opinions are subjective, but I think he's arguably the best leader EKU ever had (at least since Martin). That said, he had already interv...

Re: Roan to JMU
Yikes What dirt does Worthington have on Roan. https://www.richmondregister.com/sports/opinion-bye-bye-roan/article_1c6c9ed2-fc41-11ee-b8ab-d3234f846c96.html Yeah. That's what I was talking about. Part of my still wonders if it was just a case of the legalities of firing someone over things that ar...

Re: Roan to JMU
Great post, Roll Kerns. I agree on almost all counts. I'm not sure that I see FBS as any more or less likely than it was before. If we make a good hire maybe that person gives us a fresh new angle. It's way too early to tell, and it's also way too dependent on potential future movement over which we...

Re: Roan to JMU
Not going too much into this because I could go for a while. But Nathan wasn’t going to Eku stuff before the softball stuff happened because he got his feelings hurt. And he’s very sensitive and petty. So hard for me to believe anything he says. Not saying everything he said was wrong, but he’s pro...

Re: Roan to JMU
Nathan from the register *really* unloaded on him. I've liked a lot of what he's done here, but it's not entirely undeserved.
